Parent Advocacy and Educational Consultation services .

Helping families navigate school support, diagnoses, IEPs, and assessments from Kindergarten to Grade 12

Searching for help after a diagnosis? Confused about a recent psychoeducational assessment? Wondering how to get the right accommodations or school plan for your child?
You’ve come to the right place.

Parent Advocacy and Educational Consultation services are designed to support families navigating neurodiversity, special education systems, and mental health-related school support and beyond. Whether your child has recently been diagnosed with ADHD, autism, a learning disability (like dyslexia), anxiety, or executive functioning challenges — we’ll help you understand your options, advocate effectively, and access the services your child deserves.

What Is Parent Advocacy Support?

Parent Advocacy is a professional support service that helps parents and caregivers understand how to navigate school systems, request educational assessments, interpret clinical reports, and advocate for appropriate services and accommodations.

Our services help families bridge the gap between diagnosis and day-to-day support. We help you understand how your child’s neurodiversity profile affects their learning and emotional wellbeing — and how to work with schools to build meaningful, individualized supports.

Who We Support.

This service is ideal for parents and caregivers of students who:

  • Have recently received a psychoeducational or neuropsychological assessment

  • Have a new diagnosis (e.g. Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, anxiety, dyslexia, learning disabilities)

  • Have a current IEP that isn’t working

  • Are struggling to get in-school supports or accommodations

  • Feel overwhelmed and don’t know what to ask for

We work with families of students from Kindergarten through Grade 12, with experience in both public and private education systems across Ontario & the UK.

Our Parent Advocacy & Consultation Services

  1. Assessment Follow-Up & Report Interpretation

Many parents feel overwhelmed after receiving a psychoeducational, neuropsychological, or speech-language report. You may be wondering, “What does this actually mean?” or “How do I use this at school?”

We help by:

  • Reviewing and translating the assessment findings into accessible, parent-friendly language

  • Explaining the diagnosis and learning profile clearly

  • Identifying which recommendations to prioritize for school accommodations

  • Building an action plan for next steps in the school setting

We also liaise with clinics and allied professionals to provide continuity of care for families post-assessment.

2. Individual Education Plan (IEP) Development & Review

An IEP should reflect your child’s unique strengths, needs, and learning style. Whether you’re starting fresh or trying to improve an existing plan, we can help.

IEP Creation & Development

We work with parents to:

  • Review all relevant assessments and diagnoses

  • Recommend accommodations, modifications, and strategies that reflect the child’s neurodevelopmental profile

  • Coach you on how to speak with your child’s educators and collaborate on IEP development

  • Ensure your child’s rights under Ontario’s Education Act are being met

IEP Review & Revamp

Already have an IEP that’s not working? We will:

  • Review the IEP line by line and identify gaps, vague language, or missed supports

  • Offer concrete, actionable suggestions for improvement

  • Help you prepare for the next meeting with templates, communication guides, and questions to ask

  • Provide written support letters or advocacy briefs when needed.

3. School Advocacy Coaching & Meeting Support

Advocating for your child at school can feel intimidating, especially when emotions are high or your concerns aren’t being heard. Our Advocacy Support service includes:

  • One-on-one coaching sessions to help you prepare for key meetings

  • Custom discussion guides and advocacy planning tools

  • Templates for school emails, funding requests, and accommodation requests

  • Optional attendance at school meetings (virtual or in-person) as your advocate

  • Support with Behaviour Plans, Transition Plans, and Assistive Technology integration

We ensure you feel confident in expressing your child’s needs and empowered in conversations with teachers, principals, and school support staff.
